A Digital Elevation Model is a digital file with terrain elevations for ground positions occurring at regularly spaced horizontal intervals. DEMs can use 3-D images or colorization to bring out relief. The image above is a DEM image that shows the locations of the 16 AOI (Areas of Interest) where potential traps are associated with predicted or identified reservoir units (indicated by the red polygons).
